The European Team Championship commences Sunday October 28th in Hersonissos, Crete, the Welsh team being:

There are 40 teams particpating in the Mens Championship (plus 29 in the Ladies), which are only available so far in alphabetic, rather than seeding order, but a glance at the players ratings reveals that Wales will be seeded 39th out of 40.

Cyprus will be the 40th seed, and there are only three other teams, Luxembourg, Monaco and Scotland who do not fully comprise all GMs and/or IMs. It's going to be tough (!).

Additionally I will try and send back a daily report providing a bit more information about the Welsh match. The event is a 9 round Swiss, with rounds 1 - 5 from Sunday October 28th to Thursday November 1st, and rounds 6 - 9 from Saturday November 3rd - Tuesday November 6th.
