Proposed changes to Constitution Management Board Proposals 1) Amend Section 6 (iv) MAIN COMMITTEES after: The Main Committees of the WCU shall meet at least twice annually:- The President and Executive Director are ex-officio members of all committees and the committees have the power to co-opt. Such co-opted members shall not have a vote. Main committees shall not take decisions involving the outgoings of Union funds without the prior consent of the Board. Each main committee is responsible for the use of funds raised by itself but must submit accounts to the Board on request. 2) Add to Section 6 (v) OTHER COMMITTEES (a) Selection Committee: line 4 after European team Championship:- “A Representative of Ladies Committee”. 3) Add to Section 9 QUALIFICATION RULES (iii) INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATION:- (g) Anyone who has represented Wales in an event organised by FIDE will remain qualified if they are a member of the WCU and are not registered on the FIDE list with any other nation. (Renumber as necessary) 4) (h) Add to Section 9 QUALIFICATION RULES (iii) INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATION:- Any player who has won the Welsh Championship or Welsh Ladies Championship shall be qualified if they are a member of the WCU and are not registered on the FIDE list with any other nation. Proposed by Leighton Williams Seconded by Chris Walsh 6) That Section 6(v) OTHER COMMITTEES (a) Selection Committee be re-worded to say the following:- “The selection of individuals or teams to represent the Union in international tournaments or matches, except juniors, and team managers if required, shall be decided by a committee comprising the Chairman of Selectors, the International Director, the team manager(s) of the most recent Olympiad or European team Championship, together with any manager of a team for which selection is to take place, an elected representative from each Zone and the Grading Officer.” |
