Welsh Challenge Cup 2007

 

This year`s all-play-all final competition was between Cardiff (holders),Cwmbran,Monmouth and Cardigan.The winner of the event would have the right to join Nidum (winner of the WCPL) in playing in the ECC in Antalya,Turkey.Next season,the WCPL will have both qualifying places for the ECC 2008.

The whole event hinged on the round two affair between Cwmbran and Cardiff after thier round one winning start.On paper,Cardiff held an edge,but it was Cwmbran`s bottom boards scoring 3/3 that secured the match.Their captain,Jon Gilbert was the only player to score 100% over the three matches.
